How to do it

  1. Set a mirror where you can see yourself clearly and sit facing it with a pillow behind your back.

  2. Lean back on one hand, bend one knee, and let your other leg rest out in front.

  3. Take a moment to simply look and notice what you like about what you see.

  4. Use your free hand to explore, watching how changes in pressure and pace look and feel.

Tips

  • Soft lamp light is far more flattering than overhead light.
  • Make sure the mirror is stable and angled so you can see without craning.
  • If watching feels strange at first, close your eyes for a while and look again later.
