How to do it

  1. Giver, sit on a sturdy chair with your feet flat on the floor and your back against the backrest.

  2. Receiver, stand with your back to the giver, then carefully place both feet on the chair seat on either side of the giver's thighs.

  3. Lower into a squat with your knees high and your hands on your thighs or knees.

  4. Giver, hold the receiver's waist firmly while the receiver rises and sinks slowly.

Tips

  • Use a wide, stable chair and test your balance before adding movement.
  • Receiver, go barefoot or wear socks with grip, since slippery shoes make for trouble.
  • Giver, keep your hands on the receiver's waist at all times.
